Jr. JFK Logistics & Operations Agent | Rock-it Cargo

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Rock-it Cargo, located in Inwood, NY (JFK office). The company specializes in global logistics and operations, enabling iconic moments in live events across touring, sports, broadcasting, film, TV, and experiential events. This role is crucial for arranging domestic and international transportation, directly supporting the successful execution of high-profile client events in entertainment, media, and luxury.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional nights, weekends, or holidays
• Location: Inwood, NY

• Team: Rock-It Cargo Central Operations team
• Mission: Strategically identifies and books the best routes for each project, prepares documentation, manages deadlines, and cultivates relationships to ensure successful client events.
• Tech Stack: Basic Excel functions

What You’ll Actually Do
• Route Planning: Assist the operations department in researching optimal routes and making bookings for domestic and international freight shipments.
• Shipment Coordination: Coordinate domestic and international import/export shipments using all modes of transport, including air, trucking, and ocean.
• Document Preparation: Review client manifests and prepare all necessary transportation documents for shipments.
• Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both customers and vendors.
• Deadline Oversight: Work closely with carriers, shippers, and consignees to ensure all project deadlines are consistently met.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry or military experience; basic freight forwarder knowledge.
• Experience: 1-3 years of Freight Forwarding experience; confidence with air export shipments.
• Skills: Strategic thinking with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, meticulous organization of multiple complex projects, sharp attention to detail, and composure under pressure; excellent customer service and vendor relationship management skills; comfort with basic Excel functions and quick adoption of new software.
• Bonus: Experience with live event import/export operations; flexibility to travel and participate in on-call rotations.
