The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career
• Pay: $37–$95.37 hourly
• Team: Reports with supervision from a registered professional nurse and overseen by a Nurse Leader in the department.
• Mission: To utilize the nursing process as a framework for practice, providing direct patient care to patients and families in Medical/Surgical/Specialty units.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Care Delivery: Provide safe, quality, and culturally competent direct patient care by systematically assessing patients and families, developing individualized plans that address preventative measures, delivering age-specific care, and evaluating effectiveness to adapt care based on patient response.
• Professional Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with nurses, physicians, other colleagues, patients, and families, communicating effectively to exchange information and foster an environment of trust, respect, and partnership in care.
• Clinical Skill Application: Administer medications and treatments, coordinate and assist in the care of diverse medical/surgical/specialty patients, and direct assistive personnel to ensure safe, effective, efficient, equitable, and timely patient-centered care.
• Clinical Leadership & Advocacy: Demonstrate professional behavior, act as a responsive team member, fulfill the role of a nurse as a teacher, ensure regulatory compliance, and consistently advocate for patients’ best interests, integrating ethical principles and clinical knowledge.
• Continuous Learning: Uphold high standards of quality nursing care, consistently apply evidenced-based practice, maintain all mandatory education and emergency skills, and commit to lifelong learning through self-reflection and identifying growth needs in conjunction with clinical specialists.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional who has graduated from a state-approved and/or accredited School of Nursing. Must possess or be eligible for a current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration and hold an American Heart Association – Basic Life Support Certificate.
• Experience: 0-1 years of related work experience, coupled with basic familiarity in navigating computer systems and web-based applications.
• Skills: Demonstrated clinical skills and technical knowledge to provide care for patients according to nursing policies and unit-specific competencies, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
• Bonus: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
