Warehouse Manager | Thorp Controls

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Thorp Controls, located in La Vista, NE. Thorp Controls supplies automation products, including electrical automation parts, along with a full breadth of other industrial products, to a diverse customer base of OEMs, system integrators, and industrial users. This role is crucial for ensuring customers receive accurate and timely orders, maintaining efficient warehouse operations, and supporting the company’s century-long commitment to service excellence. You will play a crucial role in the daily flow of products that keep our customers’ operations running optimally.

• Pay: $20–$25 hourly
• Mission: Owns the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders through efficient warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, shipping, and assembly.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Order Fulfillment: Receive, pick, pack, and ship electrical automation parts for timely customer order fulfillment.
• Assembly & Delivery: Perform minor assembly tasks as needed and deliver products to local customers when necessary.
• Inventory Management: Assist with cycle counts and annual inventory audits in coordination with the Purchasing Manager.
• Warehouse Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment while learning and utilizing warehouse management software for inventory tracking.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiency, working collaboratively with team members.
• Sales Support: Gain experience in inside sales support as time permits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager career level in warehouse operations.
• Experience: No prior warehouse experience required; however, experience in warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving is a plus.
• Skills: Basic math skills and ability to learn and operate inventory management software; strong attention to detail and ability to work independently; excellent attendance, punctuality, and strong teamwork and communication skills; physical ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. unassisted and perform warehouse-related physical tasks.
• Bonus: Product knowledge may be considered in compensation evaluation; willingness to identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency.
