Our charity is passionately dedicated to combating the pervasive feelings of loneliness and isolation among senior citizens by facilitating meaningful virtual visits with young adult college students. This vital role offers an invaluable opportunity to contribute directly to our mission by providing crucial assistance with the day-to-day operations of our virtual visit program, which currently supports hundreds of active volunteers. Your commitment will directly foster intergenerational connections, bring joy and smiles to seniors, and significantly combat social isolation across the nation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee Program Operations: Ensure the seamless execution of weekly video calls connecting student volunteers with senior citizens, actively identifying and addressing any operational issues that may arise.
• Provide Remote Assistance: Offer crucial remote support to student volunteers and/or the senior’s caregiver whenever necessary, guaranteeing the successful initiation and continuation of virtual visits.
• Manage Volunteer Staffing: Systematically track and confirm that every scheduled video call is appropriately staffed with a dedicated volunteer, preventing gaps in our service delivery.
• Ensure Compliance: Meticulously monitor adherence to organizational standards and established guidelines across all program participants, maintaining the quality and integrity of our interactions.
• Administer Program Support: Execute a range of administrative responsibilities vital for the efficient and organized running of the virtual visit program, supporting overall operational effectiveness.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally allowed to volunteer or work within the United States. This position is particularly ideal for students seeking to fulfill academic requirements for internship, field work, service learning, or practicum experience, contingent upon institutional approval.
• Experience: Demonstrable hands-on experience and proficiency in utilizing various applications within Google Suite, including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and Gmail, is required for efficient task management.
• Skills: Strong capabilities in program coordination and oversight; adeptness in providing remote technical and user assistance; meticulous attention to detail for tracking and monitoring program elements; sound administrative and organizational skills for daily operations; and effective problem-solving abilities to address emerging issues swiftly.
