About the Company:
The Lucasfilm Video Assets team is the central repository for all video content related to the Lucasfilm franchise. This includes movies, shows, trailers, documentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, dailies, and legacy content. The team manages over 1 million minutes of footage, archiving, curating, and making this content accessible for use in new creative projects and productions across the company. They also utilize the latest technology to preserve the high quality of this vast video archive.
Job Description:
This internship offers a chance to contribute to the management of Lucasfilm’s extensive video library. The role involves a variety of tasks, all focused on maintaining and enhancing the organization and accessibility of the video assets. Responsibilities include:
• Ingesting video assets: Receiving and processing new video materials into the system.
• Database development: Assisting in the improvement and maintenance of the video asset databases.
• Metadata logging: Accurately documenting details about each video asset (e.g., content, technical specifications).
• Operational support: Providing general assistance to the Video Asset Management team.
• Transcoding and importing: Converting video files to compatible formats for archiving and use.
• Research and collection: Locating and gathering necessary video materials.
• Archiving: Organizing and storing original camera sources.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and contribute effectively to a team environment. They will report to the Manager of Franchise Video Assets. The internship is a full-time, on-site position in San Francisco, CA, running approximately from June 2025 to August 2025.
