Sales Reporting and Operations Intern | JM Family

The Tone:
This is an internship at JM Family, located in Deerfield Beach, FL, offering a hybrid work arrangement with both on-site and remote work. The program is specifically designed to provide college students with meaningful work experiences directly tied to their programs of study, ensuring active contribution to team success. In this role, you will dive into projects related to analytics, Power BI, and process enhancements, gaining hands-on experience with key performance indicators that drive business performance. This opportunity allows you to learn about JM Family’s companies and culture, while developing new skills through various learning and networking opportunities.

• Mission: Dedicated to supporting JM&A Group’s sales teams by serving as data experts, providing meaningful and impactful reporting, and designing effective sales incentives to drive performance.
• Tech Stack: Power BI, Excel, SQL, data queries, data aggregation, data visualization, pivot tables, data lookups, data cleansing

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting Requirements: Gather and document detailed requirements for new reporting solutions and data visualizations, ensuring they meet business needs.
• Power BI Development: Build and develop interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, transforming raw data into actionable insights for sales teams.
• Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis using Excel, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies to support operational decision-making.
• Query Execution: Create and execute precise data queries for efficient data extraction and analysis, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Documentation & Governance: Maintain comprehensive data documentation within governance tools and strictly adhere to established data governance standards and procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrollment in a bachelor’s or graduate program, with a declared major in fields such as analytics, business, accounting, finance, computer science, information systems, or engineering.
• Experience: No specific years of prior professional experience are required for this internship; however, JM Family prefers candidates who are currently third-year bachelor’s students or those who are entering a master’s program.
• Skills: Demonstrated detail-orientation with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, effective communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to clearly present complex findings to non-technical audiences.
• Bonus: Proficiency with common Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is highly beneficial. Helpful technical exposure includes Power BI, SQL, data queries, data aggregation, data visualization, pivot tables, data lookups, and data cleansing. Relevant coursework that covers statistics, accounting, finance, economics, and technology will also be advantageous.
