Responsibilities

• Design sophisticated video analysis algorithms, including but not limited to Region of Interest (ROI) / Saliency Object Detection (SOD), content understanding, and temporal grounding.
• Develop and optimize quality assessment algorithms, participating actively in database creation, algorithm design, development, and optimization processes.
• Contribute to designing the overall strategy and solutions for End-to-End (E2E) video quality optimization, integrating a combination of advanced video analysis, processing, and encoding algorithms.
• Apply designed algorithms for various applications such as Video on Demand (VOD) / Live streaming monitoring, comprehensive data analysis, and objective evaluation of algorithms.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate algorithms into production workflows and rigorously validate their impact through A/B testing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Final year Ph.D. candidate or recent Ph.D. graduate in Computer Science, engineering, or a quantitative field.
• In-depth knowledge of video analysis algorithms or subjective/objective video quality algorithms, coupled with familiarity with state-of-the-art technologies in these areas.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Machine Learning (ML) and image processing tools, including sklearn, OpenCV, FFmpeg, etc.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow / PyTorch.
• Familiarity with Transformer architectures and mainstream multi-modal large models (MLLMs), with hands-on implementation or research experience being a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments, shell scripting, HDFS, etc.
• Knowledge of common video processing algorithms, such as super-resolution, diffusion models, etc.
• Demonstrated great communication skills, eagerness to learn, and a constant passion for translating cutting-edge technologies into real-life use cases.

Job Information: Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136,800 – $259,200 annually.

Please note that compensation may vary outside of this range based on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay forms one part of the Total Package provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may also be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
