About the Job

Stake Center Locating is seeking entry-level Locate Technicians to join our team. This role involves locating underground utilities, troubleshooting, and marking the ground with paint and flags to promote damage prevention in the community. We offer comprehensive 100% paid training to equip you with the necessary skills. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, have a desire to work independently, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities (Training Provided)

Entry-level Locating Technicians will be trained to:

• Prioritize Safety: Always think Safety First!
• Ticket Management: Use a laptop computer to receive, document, and process tickets and emails.
• Mapping & Blueprints: Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine optimal locating methods and sequences.
• Equipment Usage: Utilize provided locate equipment and technology to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Effective Communication: Communicate clearly with peers, managers, and homeowners.

Qualifications

• Age: Eighteen years of age or older.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week.
  • Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs or in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids.
• Screenings: Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Schedule

• Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as dictated by ticket/production load.
• On-Call: Respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call shift rotation.
