Utilities Right of Way Agent – Indianapolis, IN | ORC
The Tone:
This is a full-time, exempt role at ORC, located remotely in Indiana, requiring candidates to reside within 100 miles of Indianapolis and report to the client office monthly. ORC specializes in the Right of Way sector, which connects infrastructure with innovation to shape future roads, utilities, and communities. What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquisition: Acquire right-of-way rights for distribution and electrical transmission line projects in accordance with project guidelines and regulations.
• Project Support: Support the Project Manager and other project team members to ensure smooth project progression.
• Documentation: Prepare various real estate documents necessary for right-of-way acquisition processes.
• Research: Conduct thorough property research to gather ownership and boundary information.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with property owners and their representatives regarding right-of-way acquisition details.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Active Indiana Notary or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire, and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Right of Way acquisition experience for Agent 1, or a minimum of 3 years of Right of Way acquisition experience for Agent 2.
• Skills: Proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to access ORC’s systems using an iOS or Android smartphone; clear and professional communication skills across all mediums; strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented abilities; and a strong service mindset in all interactions.
• Bonus: An eagerness to learn and grow within the right of way profession, coupled with the ability to quickly pick up new systems and software.
