Nonprofit Marketing Internship | Kindfulness
The Tone:
This is an unpaid, educational internship at Kindfulness, located in Columbus, OH, offering a hybrid work environment. Kindfulness is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals facing unhousing, trafficking survivors, those in reentry, individuals experiencing sexuality and gender-related stressors, and military veterans. The organization aims to overcome barriers to essential resources through programs like smart vending machines and mobile outreach, fostering a community-driven network. This role is crucial for marketing these vital programs and resources, directly contributing to Kindfulness’ mission by ensuring information reaches and serves its target populations effectively, always informed by community involvement.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Marketing Management: Oversee the marketing activities for a smart vending machine system currently in research & development (R&D).
• Social Media: Manage the organization’s social media presence, including optimization for search engine (SEO), geographic (GEO), and algorithmic (AEO) engagement.
• Market Research: Conduct research to understand market needs and constituent engagement, informing marketing strategies.
• Content Creation: Develop compelling written content for various marketing and communication purposes, including copywriting.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Kindfulness’ internal units in Community Outreach, Policy, and Business Operations on assigned tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion or current enrollment in a post-secondary program (e.g., vocational, associate, or bachelor’s degree), with at least 6 months of coursework or experience in marketing.
• Experience: A minimum 6-month commitment of at least 12 hours per week, with residence and ability to commute in Columbus, OH.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and approval for OPT for F-1 Visa holders.
• Bonus: Preference for persons with lived experience in Kindfulness’ five constituent communities, familiarity with integrative social justice concepts, and an interest in using technology for mobile outreach and service optimization.
