Trade Partner Manager | Opendoor
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Opendoor, operating across various U.S. markets. This critical role focuses on building and maintaining a high-performing network of third-party vendors—referred to as trade partners—who deliver essential renovation, listed/resale, and maintenance services across all Opendoor markets. By ensuring efficient project completion speed, managing costs effectively, and upholding quality standards, this role directly supports Opendoor’s overarching goals and enhances the homeowner experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Network Performance: Oversee trade partner performance to build and maintain a high-performing network of vendors, driving their accountability for overall quality and efficiency.
• Partner Support & Escalation: Provide direct support to trade partners by responding to general questions and escalations, applying Opendoor policies and personal judgment to resolve issues independently within a 24-hour SLA.
• Performance Management: Run structured performance cycles, which include ratings deep-dives, survey triage, corrective action plans, and retention/attrition reviews with reason codes.
• Lifecycle Management: Execute the strategic sourcing and launch of new partners by validating their fit, guiding onboarding, confirming Gappify setup, activating profiles, and announcing launches. Additionally, manage the hibernation and offboarding of trade partners when needed, updating systems and aligning internal stakeholders.
• Compliance & Cross-Functional Coordination: Drive insurance compliance and eligibility using NetVendor, communicating expectations and escalation paths, and coordinating cross-functionally with Market Operations, Central Operations, and other related organizations to resolve escalations and align account-level actions to project realities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager-level professional with 2+ years in residential construction/real estate, vendor management, or operations/project management.
• Experience: 2+ years managing vendor relationships and project operations, with demonstrated ability to drive accountability and resolve complex issues. Requires familiarity with systems such as NetVendor, QuickSight, Gappify, Google Workspace, or Jira, and the ability to quickly learn new internal tools.
• Skills: Strong cross-functional collaboration and clear written/verbal communication with external vendors; exhibits a bias to action, works independently, demonstrates sound judgment, and maintains comfort resolving ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
