Fall 2026 TikTok and Communications Intern | National Partnership for Women & Families
The Tone:
This is an internship at National Partnership for Women & Families, located in Washington, DC. The National Partnership is a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization with a staff of 50, dedicated to fighting for equity for all women and families. This includes advocating for big issues such as equal pay, paid leave for working families, and access to affordable health care, including abortion and reproductive care, through federal, state, and local policy. This role is crucial for elevating these key issues by expanding the organization’s digital presence and communications strategy, while working within a collaborative and collegial team environment.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (15-25 hours per week) or Full-time (26-37.50 hours per week)
• Location: Hybrid, Washington, DC
• Pay: $17.95 hourly (increasing to $18.40 hourly effective July 1, 2026)

• Mission: Elevate critical issues of health care, reproductive rights, and workplace fairness by creating engaging digital content and supporting media relations.
• Tech Stack: HTML, press release distribution systems, Photoshop
What You’ll Actually Do
• Create: Develop engaging short-form video content and graphics for TikTok and Instagram to amplify the organization’s work and expand its social following.
• Research: Identify and monitor new media trends to inform content strategy and maintain awareness of rapidly changing social landscapes.
• Assist: Support reporter outreach efforts and contribute to the building of comprehensive media lists.
• Organize: Compile and systematically arrange press clips and media mentions for internal tracking and analysis.
• Analyze: Evaluate current and potential content for optimal social media opportunities and engagement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student interested in a career in communications or digital media, possessing a “chronically online” digital native mindset.
• Experience: Prior experience conceptualizing, pitching, shooting, and editing short-form video for TikTok, including a strong understanding of trends, algorithms, and what drives viral content.
• Skills: Highly organized, attentive to detail, and capable of managing multiple tasks for different projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to approach creative challenges with curiosity.
• Bonus: Experience with social media, digital press tools, HTML, press release distribution systems, or Photoshop.
