About the Company: Tesla
Job Description:
This is a full-time internship at Tesla in Palo Alto, CA, expected to run from approximately May 2025 to August 2025 (with potential extension into Fall 2025). The internship requires a minimum 12-week commitment and is on-site. It’s specifically for students currently enrolled in an academic program; recent graduates should apply for full-time positions. International students with CPT work authorization must verify their eligibility for 40-hour workweeks with their school before applying.
Responsibilities:
• CFD modeling: Conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of heat transfer and fluid flow.
• Radiative heat transfer enhancement: Develop innovative approaches to improve radiative heat transfer in small modules.
• Analysis and simulation: Perform tolerance analysis, finite element analysis, and simulations.
• Testing and validation: Test and validate electronic systems across all low-voltage electronics.
• Manufacturing support: Provide support to manufacturing lines and test engineers, troubleshooting issues and developing production solutions.
• Documentation and presentations: Create clear documentation and presentations to communicate designs and findings.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a thermals-related field.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics fundamentals.
• Experience with CFD and developing numerical models of thermal/fluid systems (level of experience unspecified).
• Passion for electro-mechanical product design, creative problem-solving, and finding efficient solutions to complex challenges.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical or thermal testing and data analysis.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
