AI Startup – Recruiting Operations Internship | Marketeq Talent

The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at Marketeq Talent, located 100% remotely. Marketeq Talent is a specialized firm assisting AI startups with their hiring needs, particularly for technical roles. This role is crucial for supporting the recruitment efforts, directly impacting the ability to identify, screen, and present qualified technical professionals to clients. The intern will gain hands-on experience and meaningful responsibility within a direct collaboration with executive leadership.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (flexible hours), 15–20 hours per week, 6 months
• Location: Remote
• Team: Reports directly to the CEO.
• Mission: To source, screen, and prepare qualified technical candidates for client submissions, ensuring efficient and professional recruitment operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Candidate Sourcing: Source, identify, and engage candidates across a broad range of technical roles including software engineers, data scientists, and AI experts.
• Candidate Screening: Conduct initial screening calls to assess candidate interest, availability, and fit for various technical positions.
• Interview Coordination: Coordinate and schedule interviews directly with the CEO for qualified candidates.
• Candidate Preparation: Collect candidate rate information and Right-to-Represent (RTR) confirmations, and prepare polished candidate profiles for client submissions.
• Process Management: Maintain accurate records of candidate communications, submissions, and follow-ups throughout the recruiting process.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Experience: No specific years required, but must demonstrate comfort speaking with technical professionals and executives, and a genuine interest in recruiting, tech, or startups.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with strong attention to detail; reliable, responsive, and able to manage follow-ups independently; professional email etiquette and basic business communication skills; ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
• Bonus: Some exposure to recruiting or staffing, familiarity with technical roles and terminology, experience sourcing on LinkedIn, or use of applicant tracking systems.
