Technical Advisor and PEM Support | KBR

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at KBR, located in Arlington, VA. KBR’s National Security Solutions team delivers high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions for intelligence and national security customers. In this position, your work will directly support the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ), contributing to the design and optimization of defense systems crucial for protecting national security. Your efforts will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role.

• Mission: Provide expert support to SAF/SQ for space acquisition oversight and integration, enhancing speed, resilience, and operational availability of DAF space architectures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide Space Acquisition Program Element Monitor (PEM) Support as an analyst for the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ).
• Support the development, integration, and coordination of Space Acquisition policies and strategies across DoD and interagency stakeholders.
• Apply expertise and familiarity with DoD, commercial, and civil space operations, ground/on-orbit systems, links, international capabilities, threats, cyber operations, and security.
• Contribute to SAF/SQ’s guiding objectives to drive speed, make space architecture more resilient, integrate architectures with other warfighting domains, and ensure program management discipline.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) and the USSF staff on DAF space systems acquisition and architectures oversight.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must have an active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility. Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience: At least 7 years of experience working in a space-related field, including experience working on a headquarters staff.
• Skills: Familiarity with the full range of Space Operations and Associated Capabilities, Defense Space, and National Security Space in strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations. Exemplary writing and editing skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments.
• Bonus: Experience working successfully with senior executives at multiple organizational levels. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications. Experience fostering stable and productive working relationships and communicating effectively and concisely with various audiences.
