Tax Internship – Spring 2028 | Wipfli

The TL;DR

• Mission: To utilize educational knowledge and experience to perform various accounting-related responsibilities, preparing tax returns and assisting with client inquiries.
• Tech Stack: Current tax and accounting software applications
What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Interaction: Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive, and professional manner.
• Information Gathering: Respond to inquiries from clients and work with them to gather necessary information for the completion of required documents.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections in accordance with firm and professional standards, as directed by engagement leaders.
• Tax Research: Research tax-related issues and other related financial reports.
• Process Improvement: Proactively identify improvement opportunities in processes to enhance efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, with completion of a corporate or individual taxation class required.
• Experience: Above average knowledge in accounting, demonstrated by a college GPA (preferred 3.0 GPA or higher); working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• Skills: Data analysis skills, ability to think independently and make good decisions, good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work, follow through on requests, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
