The Tone:
This is a full-time, exempt role at Ryder System, Inc., located in Spring Hill, TN. This position is vital for ensuring seamless operational functions, managing material availability, and maintaining accurate inventory, directly contributing to the smooth running of the General Motors LLP Account. The role requires independent decision-making to prevent interruptions and downtime in manufacturing processes.

The TL;DR

• Mission: This person owns the independent decision-making related to material availability and inventory control to support production requirements for the General Motors LLP Account.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Material Tracking: Follow up on all purchased parts to ensure shipment and on-time delivery performance to meet production requirements.
• Supplier Management: Serve as the main point of contact for all suppliers, providing direction on ship schedule requirements and containment plans when behind schedule.
• Critical Part Coordination: Track critical parts and develop/execute containment plans to ensure no interruptions or downtime to the manufacturing line.
• Logistics Management: Independently monitor, set up, and cancel truck loads for material pick-up as necessary to support schedule variations.
• Inventory Maintenance: Maintain accurate inventory levels in MGO, making appropriate adjustments based on investigation and analysis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. H.S. Diploma/GED, with core domain knowledge in operational functions, material availability, and inventory control.
• Experience: 1 year or more in relevant experience or administrative experience. Experience involving material availability and inventory control is strongly recommended.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, effective problem-solving, clear verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s Degree. Knowledge of MGO (GM’s MRP system), transportation management, and material flow as it relates to manufacturing processes.
