Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support engineering projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including production, quality, and R&D) to identify and resolve technical issues, optimize workflows, and drive innovation.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement activities (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Support the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform data collection and analysis to monitor and improve manufacturing performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  • Assist in the testing and validation of new equipment, materials, and technologies to ensure their effectiveness and integration into existing systems.
  • Contribute to safety and environmental compliance efforts within the manufacturing facility, promoting a culture of responsibility and continuous improvement in these areas.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)
  • This is a dedicated Summer Internship position.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or other closely related engineering/scientific fields.
  • Demonstrated interest in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and sustainable solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or coursework related to data collection, analysis, and interpretation (e.g., using Excel, Minitab, or other statistical tools).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation or quality systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
