About the Role
We are seeking a self-starter Mechanical Engineering student to join our team as a Summer Intern. This role is ideal for someone eager to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems.
- Create and update CAD models, drawings, and documentation.
- Support prototype fabrication, testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Conduct research to support engineering decisions and project planning.
- Participate in design reviews and provide ideas for improvement.
- Help troubleshoot mechanical issues and contribute to root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality, and product management.
- Maintain organized engineering files and ensure documentation accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Completed foundational coursework (e.g., Statics, Dynamics, Materials, Thermodynamics).
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar).
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication processes, and lab/test equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and in teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hands-on prototyping or machining (3D printing, CNC, shop tools).
- Familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS).
- Knowledge of tolerance stack-ups and technical drawing standards.
- Prior internship, project team, or lab experience.
