World Internship Program: Summer Intern
About the Program:
The World Internship Program is a 10-week summer program designed to develop future insurance professionals. As an intern, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry, including:
• Insurance brokerage cycle: This includes identifying and marketing risks, building service timelines, implementing service requests, and managing renewals.
Departments:
You will be placed in one of the following departments:
• Commercial Lines
• Personal Lines
• Surety Placement
• Claims
Responsibilities:
• Work alongside experienced professionals on assigned tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Learn how World helps clients achieve financial success while managing risk.
• Gain foundational knowledge for a successful career in insurance.
• Develop valuable skills, build a professional network, and launch a successful career.
• Contribute to positive client and teammate relationships through excellent service and communication.
• Enhance your skills in:
• Creating and presenting business proposals.
• Understanding risk management.
• Developing time management strategies.
Program Components:
Beyond daily tasks, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in:
• Intern Orientation: Held at the headquarters in Iselin, New Jersey.
• Speaker Presentations and Town Halls: Learn from industry experts and executive leadership.
• monthly Webinars: Gain insights from World’s CEO and COO about business strategy, operations, and key priorities.
• Self-Paced Online Program: Provided by the Council for Insurance Agents and Brokers.
• Networking, Volunteer, and Social Events: Build relationships and enjoy fun experiences.
• Developmental Workshops: Enhance your professional skills.
Currently pursuings:
• Must be enrolled in a business program at an accredited university or college, graduating in May 2026 or December 2025.
• Strong preference for students in Insurance and Risk Management programs.
• Willingness to work onsite in Iselin, New Jersey, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
• Prior customer support experience is preferred.
• Possess strong organizational, administrative, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
• Self-motivated and driven, with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and problem-solving abilities.
• Multitasking, prioritization, independent work, and discretion with sensitive information.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
