This entry-level position at Terracon is designed for students pursuing a science or related degree, offering practical experience in a dynamic engineering and consulting environment. The role involves conducting essential field and laboratory testing of construction materials and aggregates, providing a foundational understanding of materials science and engineering practices.

General Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and compliance of materials used in various construction projects.

Essential Roles And Responsibilities

• Performs sampling or testing as directed, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Provides assistance to other field and/or laboratory personnel, supporting a collaborative work environment.
• Transports equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, the laboratory, clients, or other offices, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
• Provides physical assistance in equipment set-up, contributing to the preparation and execution of testing procedures.
• Cleans equipment, vehicles, and work areas, maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
• Assists other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks, learning from experienced colleagues.
• Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments, fostering continuous professional development.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma and be currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a science or related field, such as environmental, safety, engineering, chemistry, biology, or geology. The ideal candidate will have less than one year remaining to complete their BS degree, indicating readiness for a professional career upon graduation.
