Job Description and Duties:
The Student Assistant (Social Work Intern) will operate under the general supervision of an assigned Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker within the Social Work Services department at DSH – Atascadero. The incumbent will engage in a variety of duties, which include but are not limited to:
• Academic Progress: Actively working on coursework towards a degree within the area of Social Sciences, with an anticipated completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. This indicates the role is designed to complement academic studies.
• CONREP Request Management: Responsibility for scheduling and processing CONREP (Conditional Release Program) requests for patient evaluations. This involves coordinating evaluations that can occur either via hospital visit or video conference.
• Hospital Staff Notification: Providing timely notification to hospital staff regarding all scheduled CONREP evaluations to ensure smooth coordination.
• Data Maintenance and Logging: Accurately maintaining CONREP data tracking systems and logs. This crucial task involves meticulously recording information for all evaluations, referrals, Terms of Conditions, and Letters of Acceptance.
• Reporting and Data Collection: Assisting in the collection of data and the preparation of reports, particularly those related to CONREP referrals and applications for public benefits.
• Casework and Group Support: Providing assistance with performing general casework duties and contributing to group treatment activities, offering support in direct patient-related services.
