This position is for a Student Assistant – Social Work Intern.

Classification: STUDENT ASSISTANT
Salary Range: $3,075.00 – $4,144.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification.
Number of Positions: 1
Work Location: San Luis Obispo County, specifically at the DSH – Atascadero facility.
Telework: This position requires the incumbent to be In Office.
Job Type: Student Assistant.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Student Assistant (Social Work Intern) will receive general supervision from an assigned Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker within Social Work Services at DSH – Atascadero. The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

• Actively working on coursework towards a degree within the area of Social Sciences and anticipating the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Scheduling and processing CONREP requests for patient evaluations, which may occur via hospital visit or video conference.
Providing notification to hospital staff regarding scheduled CONREP evaluations.
Accurately maintaining CONREP data tracking systems and logs for all evaluations, referrals, Terms of Conditions, and Letters of Acceptance.
Assisting with collecting data and preparing reports specifically related to CONREP referrals and applications for public benefits.
Assisting in performing casework duties and participating in group treatment activities.
