Structural Engineering Internship

As a Bridge & Structures Intern, you will join our teams across the country, working alongside experienced Bridge and Structural Engineering Professionals who are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to complex transportation challenges.

Location

This internship will be based in our East Lansing, MI, office. You will have opportunities to collaborate on active projects and receive direct mentorship from Project Engineers and Project Managers.

What You Will Do & Learn

  • Support conventional and complex bridge and structure design projects.
  • Assist with load ratings and bridge inspections.
  • Gain hands-on experience contributing to design, analysis, and field tasks.
  • Learn directly from experienced engineers, fostering your professional growth.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, with a focus on structures.
  • Strong interest in bridge and structural engineering.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus (or plans to obtain within 2 years).
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, IDOT, and ISTHA design and construction standards.
