• Mission: Ensure accurate budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards, along with supporting cross-functional teams, to advance the company’s mission.
• Tech Stack: Yardi, Intacct, Procore, advanced Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Close Processes: Manage critical month-end and year-end close processes, including all necessary reconciliations and the preparation of 1099 forms.
• Construction Accounting: Oversee construction accounting functions, including job costing, detailed project cost tracking, progress reporting, and ensuring accurate coding of project costs across systems like Yardi, Intacct, and Procore.
• Draw Management & Vendor Payments: Prepare and review monthly construction draws (G702/G703) and supporting documentation, while coordinating subcontractor payments, joint checks, and lien waivers to ensure proper approvals and compliance.
• Financial Analysis & Collaboration: Assist with project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow projections, providing financial reporting and analysis to leadership, and collaborating with project managers and development teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional holding a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, demonstrating a foundational understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience: Minimum of 0–2 years of accounting experience, including proficiency with accounting software and practical experience in troubleshooting accounting platform issues.
• Skills: Possess an analytical mindset, high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a collaborative team-oriented approach, along with proficiency in advanced Excel.
• Bonus: CPA or CMA certification (or progress toward one) is preferred, as is proficiency in Yardi Voyager.
