The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant position at GroundSystems, located in Cincinnati, OH. GroundSystems is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join its finance and accounting team. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial information and ensuring the smooth operation of daily accounting activities. The Staff Accountant will play a key part in supporting business decisions and improving processes within the organization.

• Team: Member of the finance and accounting team, reporting to the VP of Administration & Accounting, and managing the Accounting & Office Administrator.
• Mission: To ensure reliable financial records, keep month-end and year-end close processes on track, and provide leaders with essential information for sound decision-making.
• Tech Stack: QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive and accurate financial records and reports, ensuring all data is organized and accessible.
• Close Processes: Lead both month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial statements are ready.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and various general ledger accounts to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Transaction Oversight: Oversee all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely processing and proper categorization.
• Team Management: Manage the daily activities and professional development of the Accounting & Office Administrator.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or a similar platform, coupled with strong skills in Microsoft Excel. Preferred: One to three years of accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards; demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; consistent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
