What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconcile Accounts: Prepare and thoroughly analyze monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Process Transactions: Prepare and post various journal entries, encompassing accruals, allocations, and necessary adjustments to financial records.
• Support Operations: Provide essential backup support for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, contributing to smooth departmental operations.
• Address Inquiries: Respond promptly and accurately to internal and external inquiries regarding specific account balances and historical transaction data.
• Enhance Processes: Proactively recommend improvements to existing accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and financial integrity.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required, providing a foundational understanding of financial principles. Candidates must possess a strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience: A minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional experience as a Staff Accountant or in progressively responsible accounting roles is essential. This includes practical experience with bank reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and a working knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. Familiarity and experience with accounting ERP systems are also necessary.
• Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory, specifically including the ability to create and utilize pivot tables and lookup functions. Candidates must also demonstrate strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
