SURF CLUB – MANAGER IN TRAINING | Ponte Vedra Inn & Club

The Tone:
This is an 18-month full-time Manager-in-Training role at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, located in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is an award-winning, historic luxury resort dedicated to providing premier experiences. This leadership development program is designed to provide immersive, hands-on experience throughout the Surf Club. The role is critical for developing future leaders with a comprehensive understanding of luxury club operations and exceptional member and guest service.

• Mission: To develop future leaders with a comprehensive understanding of luxury club operations, Forbes Travel Guide standards, safety and risk management, and exceptional member and guest service within the Surf Club.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Leadership Development: Complete an 18-month rotational leadership development program, gaining hands-on experience in Youth Programs, Recreation, and Pool & Beach Operations.
• Operational Support: Learn and assist with the daily operations, policies, procedures, and service standards of each assigned Surf Club department.
• Guest Experience: Welcome members and guests, anticipate their needs, and provide personalized service consistent with luxury hospitality standards, responding promptly and professionally to feedback.
• Program Execution: Assist with planning, coordinating, promoting, and executing youth activities, camps, family programs, special events, and recreational experiences.
• Team Support: Aid departmental leaders with colleague training, scheduling, coaching, and performance follow-up to help ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent work experience required. College degree in Hospitality Management, Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a related field preferred. Core domain knowledge includes hospitality, recreation, pool and beach operations, youth programming, and luxury guest service.
• Experience: Previous hospitality, recreation, aquatics, youth programming, or club experience preferred. Prior leadership or supervisory experience is beneficial.
• Skills: Strong leadership presence, professionalism, adaptability, willingness to remain actively involved in daily operations, and the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English effectively.
• Bonus: Valid driver’s license. Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and other safety or recreation-related training.
