Staff Accountant | Casella Waste Systems, Inc.

• Mission: This person prepares, analyzes, and reviews financial statements and activities, assists with budget and close processes, conducts internal audits, and ensures proper documentation for accounts payable.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements and related documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Account Management: Compile and analyze accounting activities to manage records of account entries.
• Payroll Administration: Complete the entry of payroll change requests to keep up with staffing changes throughout the division.
• Budget Contribution: Contribute to the development and review of annual budgets and performance projections to help increase company growth.
• Operational Support: Support the Division Controller, Assistant Division Controller, and Operations Management to successfully and efficiently complete financial projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; legally eligible to work in the US.
• Experience: 1-2 years of previous accounting or related experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, with a strong background in Excel.
• Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, internal audit procedures, and financial documentation.
• Bonus: Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment, outstanding relationship management skills, excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills, and a positive, resourceful, self-motivated, hard-working, adaptable, and results-oriented nature with the ability to see the larger picture while focusing on detailed information.
