Staff Accountant | PLM Paving and Concrete

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at PLM Paving and Concrete. Parking Lot Maintenance is a leading residential, commercial, and industrial asphalt and concrete company. This role is crucial for an ambitious individual to jump start a career in accounting and finance. The Staff Accountant will contribute significantly to the Finance Department, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting operational decision-making.

• Mission: Ensure accurate financial transactions and inventory records to support effective financial reporting and operational insights.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel), Oracle NetSuite (preferred).

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting Reconciliation: Lead the reconciliation of daily operational reporting with the accounting ERP reporting and review job cost accuracy.
• Journal Entry Management: Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions.
• General Ledger Reconciliation: Prepare general ledger account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial information.
• Monthly Financial Analysis: Assist in the completion of monthly financial reporting, including preparing, reviewing, and analyzing balance sheets and income statements.
• Inventory Process Leadership: Lead the shop and operations inventory process, ensuring accurate inventory through monthly cycle counts and year-end counts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Entry-Level career status.
• Experience: 0-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent analytical skills, ability to work independently and meet deadlines, proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: Experience with Oracle NetSuite.
