Staff Accountant | Atlantic Group
The Tone:
This is a Staff Accountant role, located in Montgomery County, PA, with a hybrid work schedule. Atlantic Group is recruiting for a client that requires support for general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis. This position is crucial for maintaining accurate financial reporting and partnering with operational leaders to ensure business units’ accounting activities are managed effectively. The role involves managing accounting activities for assigned business units while ensuring accurate financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger: Maintain assigned general ledger accounts to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and consistently.
• Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process.
• Financial Analysis: Review financial activity, investigate variances, and resolve accounting discrepancies with business and operational teams.
• Inventory Accounting: Analyze inventory activity, reconcile physical inventory results, and support related reserve and financial reporting processes.
• Fixed Assets: Maintain fixed asset accounting, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in accordance with capitalization policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required, with a Finance degree considered for candidates possessing relevant accounting experience. A strong understanding of general ledger accounting, debits and credits, reconciliations, accruals, month-end close, and GAAP is essential.
• Experience: A minimum of 1+ years of accounting or public accounting experience is required.
• Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required, along with excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, and time management skills, enabling both independent work and effective collaboration with business leaders.
• Bonus: Experience with SAP or Epicor is preferred.
