The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Labcorp, located in Earth City, MO. Labcorp plays a critical role in healthcare by ensuring the accuracy of millions of healthcare tests every month. This position is vital for strengthening physician care by meticulously preparing and processing biological specimens, directly impacting the reliability and timeliness of diagnostic results.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Monday – Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am daily OT, rotating Saturdays
• Location: Earth City, MO

• Team: Specimen Processing and Accessioning team
• Mission: This person accurately identifies, prepares, and processes biological specimens to facilitate timely and reliable diagnostic testing.
• Tech Stack: MS Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing according to established procedures.
• Unpack: Unpack and route specimens to their designated staging areas.
• Identify & Label: Accurately identify and label specimens to maintain integrity.
• Ship: Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
• Data Entry: Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information.
• Problem Resolution: Resolve and document any problem specimens efficiently.
• Storage & Goals: Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples while meeting department activity and production goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent. This is an early career role focused on meticulous specimen handling and data management within a laboratory setting.
• Experience: 1 year or more experience in a lab/accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment; or 6 months or more of medical or production experience; and 6 months or more of data entry experience.
• Skills: Strong data entry and organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, proficiency in MS Office, ability to accurately identify specimens, comfortable handling biological specimens, and ability to pass a standardized color blind test.
• Bonus: Experience working effectively in a team environment.
