The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is a nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts complex located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Job Description: Special Events Planning Intern (Summer 2025)

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center seeks a Special Events Planning Intern for the summer of 2025. The intern will work closely with the Events Hospitality Manager to plan and execute various Arts Center-sponsored special events and facility rentals.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to diverse clientele and visitors.
• Assist in planning, setup, and management of facility rentals (weddings, corporate meetings, group tours) and special events.
• Contribute to the preparation and execution of all Arts Center special events, including:
• Levitt Amp Music Series (throughout the summer)
• Midsummer Festival of the Arts (July 19th & 20th)
• The Art Center’s participation in the 4th of July parade
• Chair City Cookout (August)
• Prepare files for facility rental inquiries.
• Conduct research related to special events, rentals, and retail as needed.
• Train, plan, and execute group tours at the Arts Center and Art Preserve.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Team-oriented work style.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to obtain a bartending license in Sheboygan (required).

Dates and Compensation:

Summer 2025 Internship Dates: June 2nd – August 22nd, 2025 (flexible).
Hours: 29 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
Compensation: Paid internship. Interns may also be eligible for course credit (arrangements are the intern’s responsibility).
