This role is distinct because our engineering team is embedded directly within the Disney marketing organization. ### What You Will Do

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be an active contributor to our growing technology portfolio, which includes innovative campaign planning tools, complex data science workflows, and elegant web applications. Your responsibilities will include:

Active Development & Maintenance: Write, debug, and contribute to the ongoing development of a suite of proprietary tools utilized by the Performance Marketing group to execute theatrical, streaming, and brand campaigns across various platforms.
Backend Service Automation: Build and expand robust backend services designed to automate and streamline the execution of data-driven media campaigns on diverse third-party ad platforms.
Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with a broader team of media and marketing experts, rapidly iterating from initial prototypes to high-quality, production-ready pipelines that drive business value.
Quality & Reliability Assurance: Implement essential quality controls, comprehensive monitoring systems, and other safeguards to ensure that optimization strategies are accurately and safely applied to in-flight ad campaigns, and that key business metrics are consistently presented with precision.

### Required Qualifications & Skills

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a strong foundation in software engineering and a passion for technology:

Proficiency in Core Programming Languages: Demonstrated experience in building applications or services using Python, Java, or similar high-level programming languages.
Strong System Architecture Understanding: Proven ability to develop and integrate any technical component within a larger system (e.g., microservice, API endpoint), coupled with a deep understanding of overall system architecture principles.
Robust Hands-on Engineering Experience: Exceptional practical experience and strong core engineering skills, gained through internships, personal projects, or significant academic work.
Familiarity with Modern Development Practices: Hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub/GitLab) and a foundational understanding of standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools and processes (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).

Data Processing Technologies: Experience with Spark or SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
Cloud & DevOps Knowledge: Understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD automation.
Ad Platform Familiarity: Knowledge of various ad platforms and marketing technologies, including DMPs, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram, Innovid, LiveRamp, and DSPs (e.g., Google DV360, Trade Desk, Verizon Media Group).

### Education

Current Enrollment: Junior or Senior year preferred.
Academic Field: Major or significant coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study.

### Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Academic Enrollment: Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, and taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program. Additionally, you must be returning to school in the semester/quarter following the internship.
Alternative Eligibility: Alternatively, you may be currently participating in a Disney College Program or a Disney Internship.
Program Duration Limit (for current Disney participants): If you are a current Disney Intern, College, International, or Culinary Program Participant, you may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Age Requirement: Be at least 18 years of age.
Work Authorization: Possess unrestricted work authorization in the United States.

The pay rate for this role in Burbank is $42.00 per hour.
