The firm excels in providing comprehensive legal services across a broad spectrum of practices. As a Litigation Docket Clerk, you will serve as an integral part of the team, directly supporting the firmwide litigation practice by accurately managing critical deadlines and court information. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance and smooth operations for lawyers practicing in diverse courts and jurisdictions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Maintain the firm’s comprehensive docket system, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions.
• Obtain: Obtain and verify filing information directly from court clerks and through various online docketing platforms.
• Identify: Identify pertinent deadlines from court documents and online sources, then prepare and distribute a master calendar of due dates to all relevant lawyers and staff.
• Research: Research and answer specific questions from attorneys, paralegals, or secretaries regarding deadlines, calculation methods for legal timeframes, and local court rules.
• Respond: Respond promptly to requests concerning calendared events, court pleadings, established court procedures, and any necessary modifications to compliance dates on the firm’s docket calendar.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong preference for a Bachelor’s degree. A foundational understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures is essential, alongside familiarity with court filings and general rules of court applicable at the federal, state, and county levels.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring or docketing experience is desired, with a preference for prior work in a large law firm environment.
• Skills: Essential skills include excellent written and oral communication, strong proofreading abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The ability to prioritize, balance competing demands, meet deadlines, and adapt to new software programs is also critical.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, as is specific experience with CompuLaw or comparable docketing software.
