The Tone:

• Team: Core Compliance EMEA, reporting to EMEA Head of Data Privacy
• Mission: Support the EMEA data privacy team in ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection laws, especially for cross-border data movement and offshoring.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guidance & Awareness: Provide advice and develop guidance for staff and Business Process Owners (BPOs) on meeting data privacy and protection obligations, and raise internal awareness of data privacy matters.
• Records & Registers Management: Support BPOs in maintaining accurate and complete records of business activities (ROPA), coordinate annual updates, and manage other privacy registers like the DPIA register.
• Inquiry & Incident Response: Serve as the first point of contact for data privacy mailboxes, redirecting queries, providing initial advice, and coordinating the investigation and reporting of incidents and breaches.
• Assessment Coordination: Triage and coordinate advice and approvals for Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Transfer Risk Assessments, and Cross-Border Data Management (CBDM) assessments.
• Program Enhancement & Reporting: Support the development and enhancement of privacy compliance-related policies and procedures, coordinate monitoring exercises, and prepare metrics and reports for leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: University degree or equivalent, with compliance or legal experience and some exposure to data privacy and protection.
• Experience: Some knowledge of data protection laws within the EU/UK.
• Skills: Working knowledge of data privacy and protection laws, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and prioritize effectively, and excellent Microsoft Office skills.
• Bonus: Experience in the banking or financial services industry; CIPP/E and/or other relevant certifications.
