Role Description: Social Media Marketing Intern

Hoverla F.C. is seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Marketing Intern to significantly enhance the club’s burgeoning digital presence. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal, hands-on role in capturing the vibrant essence of our club – from the intensity of training sessions to the excitement of games.

The intern will be instrumental in creating engaging content that vividly tells the story of Hoverla F.C. across various social platforms. This is a part-time position with a flexible blend of on-site and remote work, based in Warren, MI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Capture: Film compelling short-form video content at training sessions, games, and club events.
  • Video Editing: Edit high-quality Instagram Reels and other short-form video content, optimizing for platform engagement.
  • Trend Adaptation: Proactively identify, recreate, and skillfully adapt relevant social media trends to suit the club’s brand voice.
  • Copywriting: Craft concise and engaging short captions that complement visual content and resonate with our audience.
  • Content Publishing: Assist with the scheduling and posting of content on Instagram and Facebook, ensuring all content is approved prior to publication.
  • Brand Storytelling: Actively contribute to showcasing Hoverla F.C.’s core identity, highlighting the club’s energy, commitment to player development, and strong team culture.

Time Commitment & Compensation

  • Total Hours: 6–8 hours per week.
  • On-site: Approximately 3–4 hours per week, primarily for content capture at training sessions and games.
  • Remote: Approximately 3–4 hours per week, dedicated to editing and content creation.
  • Seasonality: Involvement spans the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, with limited activity during the summer.
  • Compensation: A monthly stipend of $300 is provided, reflecting a flexible schedule and an hourly equivalent of approximately $10–$12/hour.

  • Primary Tool: Content creation will primarily be phone-based.
  • Software Access: Access to industry-standard tools such as Figma will be provided for design and content planning.

Game & Event Attendance Requirements

Attendance at specific events is crucial for effective content capture:

  • Home Games: Expected attendance at all home games.
  • Away Games: Expected attendance at select away games located within the wider Metro Detroit area.
  • Tournaments: Required attendance at Fall and Spring tournaments.

Qualifications

  • A genuine interest in content creation, social media management, or marketing principles.
  • Possesses a creative mindset and a keen eye for developing engaging and impactful content.
  • An interest in soccer is considered a significant advantage but is not a mandatory requirement for this role.
