About the SkillBridge Maintenance Technician Internship

What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Technician Intern, you’ll be involved in a diverse range of tasks, including:
- Responding to building emergencies: Proactively address and resolve urgent issues to minimize disruption.
- Tackling basic plumbing & electrical work: Perform essential repairs and maintenance to ensure systems function correctly.
- Monitoring contractors & vendors: Oversee external service providers to ensure projects are completed to quality standards and specifications.
- Performing routine building checks: Conduct regular inspections to maintain safety, security, and operational efficiency of the facility.
- Supporting your team: Assist with punch-list items, safety checks, and special projects, contributing to overall team success.
- Jumping in wherever needed: Embrace a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same, lending your skills to various tasks as required.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We’re looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) and/or trade school training.
- Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, facilities, or related work.
- Tool Proficiency: Comfortable using both powered and non-powered tools effectively and safely.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Work Ethic: A self-starter who works well independently, collaborates effectively on a team, and performs efficiently under pressure.

Physical Demands & Environment
This role involves physical activity and exposure to various environmental conditions:
- Physical Activity: The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Vision Requirements: Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment: Must be able to work under pressure and meet time deadlines during peak periods.
- Exposure: Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, unsafe places; fumes/airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
