Job Description:

Skillbridge Intern – Palo Verde

This internship is designed for active Service Members of the Armed Forces who are within six (6) months of separation and have been approved for the SkillBridge program through the Department of Defense. The program provides training and development opportunities to help service members transition into the civilian workforce. Interns will be integrated into the organization and gain valuable on-the-job training at the Palo Verde Generating Station. This internship is unpaid and the service member will continue to receive benefits from the Department of Defense.

Major Accountabilities:

• Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, and studies.
• Assists in research, business documentation, studies, or technical reviews.
• Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.
• Utilizes internal resources to learn business/operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.
• Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be an active Service Member of the Armed Forces that is within six (6) months of separation.
• Must have applied to the SkillBridge program through the Department of Defense with an approval from both the Department of Defense and the Service Member’s Chain of Command.
• This position does not include compensation or benefits paid by APS.
• The Service member will continue to receive benefits from the Department of Defense.

Additional Information:

• The position is located in Tonopah, AZ.
• The start date is May 19, 2025.
• The role requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
• Applicants for positions at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Stations (PVNGS) must be a U.S. person.
• Employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours.
