Shift Lead | Five Guys

The Tone:
This is an in-person leadership role at Five Guys, a company dedicated to delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences. Shift Leaders are crucial for the restaurant’s daily success, serving as hands-on leaders who model excellent service and operational efficiency. This role involves working closely with the team, ensuring that every shift operates smoothly and every guest leaves impressed. The TL;DR
• Location: In-person
• Pay: $14.5 hourly +Tips +Bonus
• Mission: To lead shifts, uphold operational standards, and guarantee a positive guest experience in the absence of management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Operations: Take charge of the shift, running all restaurant operations independently when management is not on-site to ensure continuous, smooth service delivery.
• Hands-On Contribution: Actively work in every station, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room, demonstrating that no operational task is too small for a leader.
• Guest Experience: Provide fast and accurate service consistently, focusing on creating a positive and memorable experience for every guest throughout their visit.
• Team Development: Coach, support, and motivate crew members to help them perform at their highest level, while also assisting in the training of new team members to foster a strong and positive team culture.
• Operational Compliance: Maintain the restaurant’s cleanliness, ensure safety protocols are followed, and uphold all brand standards across all aspects of the establishment.
• Administrative Oversight: Effectively manage critical shift tasks such as coordinating breaks, handling cash accurately, and completing closing reports to maintain operational integrity.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a background in restaurant, retail, or hospitality settings, with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated leadership capabilities within these environments.
• Experience: Candidates should possess 1 to 2 years of professional experience within the restaurant, retail, or hospitality sector. Prior experience in a leadership capacity is highly valued.
• Skills: Strong communication abilities are essential for effective team interaction. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions calmly under pressure, possess basic mathematical skills for transactions, and be comfortable operating Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Bonus: A food safety certification, such as ServSafe, is a preferred qualification for this position, demonstrating a commitment to health and safety standards.
