Shift Lead | Five Guys

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Leadership: Take full charge of the shift, stepping in to run all restaurant operations efficiently and effectively when management is not on site.
• Hands-On Engagement: Demonstrate leadership by actively working across every position, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room, showing that no task is too small.
• Team Development and Coaching: Coach, support, and inspire crew members to achieve their best performance, while also assisting in the training of new team members to build a strong and positive work culture.
• Guest Experience Excellence: Consistently deliver fast, accurate service, ensuring every guest receives a great experience that leaves them impressed.
• Restaurant Standards and Management: Maintain the restaurant’s cleanliness, safety, and adherence to all brand standards, alongside managing crucial shift tasks such such as employee breaks, accurate cash handling, and completion of closing reports.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires 1–2 years of prior experience within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred, indicating an ability to effectively guide, motivate, and manage a team in a service-oriented setting.
• Skills: Possess a team-first mindset paired with strong communication skills for effective team interaction. Must exemplify leadership through doing, not just directing, and maintain composure to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Essential technical skills include basic math proficiency and comfort using POS systems.
• Bonus: A food safety certification, such as ServSafe, is a preferred qualification for candidates.
