The Tone:
This is a part-time leadership role at Five Guys, offering an in-person work environment within one of its vibrant restaurant locations. This Shift Lead position is fundamental to the daily success of the restaurant; you are a hands-on leader who actively sets the operational tone for every shift, leading by example and working side-by-side with your team. The TL;DR

• Mission: Lead daily restaurant operations, coach crew members, foster a positive team culture, and ensure an outstanding guest experience on every shift.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Shift Leadership: Lead and manage all restaurant operations during your shift, stepping in to run the site when general management is not present.
• Operational Versatility: Demonstrate a hands-on approach by performing every restaurant position, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room duties.
• Guest Service & Standards: Deliver fast, accurate service to create a great guest experience every time, while also ensuring the restaurant remains clean, safe, and adheres to brand standards.
• Team Coaching & Culture: Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best, contributing to a strong, positive culture and helping to train new team members.
• Administrative Oversight: Manage essential shift tasks such as coordinating breaks, handling cash accurately, and completing all necessary closing reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires 1 to 2 years of experience within a restaurant, retail, or general hospitality setting, demonstrating foundational industry knowledge.
• Experience: A team-first mindset is essential, coupled with the ability to lead effectively by doing rather than solely directing tasks from a distance.
• Skills: Possess strong communication skills for clear interaction with both team members and guests, basic math proficiency, and comfort with using point-of-sale (POS) systems. The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, demanding environment is also critical.
• Bonus: Prior leadership experience is preferred for this role, along with possessing a food safety certification, such as ServSafe.
