Marketing Data Science Manager | Mozilla

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mozilla, located remotely in Canada. • Mission: This person owns global data strategy for Firefox Marketing and develops new data capabilities to unlock future business growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Leadership: Set the comprehensive strategy and roadmap for Marketing Data Science, actively prioritizing the highest-impact opportunities in collaboration with key partners.
• Performance Measurement: Establish robust goals and define measurement approaches for attribution, return on investment (ROI), and overall campaign performance, delivering critical insights that improve marketing investment and optimize outcomes.
• Core Capability Development – Performance: Lead and develop the team’s core capabilities in performance marketing, specifically focusing on budget optimization, causal lift measurement, and rigorous conversion-signal testing.
• Core Capability Development – Insights & Reporting: Lead and develop capabilities in brand marketing (measurement planning and long-term impact assessment), user insights (retention/LTV modeling, audience segmentation), and reporting infrastructure (building self-service dashboards, executive reporting, scalable data models, and internal tools).
• Future Innovation: Bring a forward-looking perspective on advertising, media innovation, and advanced marketing analytics methods, and partner with Data Science leaders to responsibly evaluate and adopt emerging AI tools to improve team workflows and overall impact.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a minimum of six years of marketing data science experience, ideally gained within a media agency or an in-house marketing organization.
• Experience: Demonstrate proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing talent, coupled with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple complex workstreams.
• Skills: Exhibit proficiency with key marketing analytics tools, including Google Analytics and various advertising platforms. Possess familiarity with advanced modeling methods such as Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), causal lift/synthetic control, saturation modeling, optimization techniques, and Bayesian approaches. Additionally, demonstrate strong storytelling and communication skills, capable of tailoring data-driven insights and recommendations to diverse audiences.
