Senior Investment Intern | Pathway Capital Management, LP

The Tone:
This is an internship at Pathway Capital Management, LP, located in Providence, RI. Pathway Capital Management is a leading institutional investment management firm, dedicated to creating and managing specialized private markets solutions for institutional investors worldwide. This Senior Investment Intern role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the firm’s core investment activities. Interns are integral to analyzing potential investment opportunities across various private markets and assisting the investment team with critical market research and client portfolio monitoring. You will work closely alongside senior and mid-level professionals within small, focused teams, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the institutional investment landscape.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Evaluation: Perform comprehensive quantitative and qualitative reviews of potential private markets fund investments, spanning private equity, private credit, and infrastructure sectors.
• Underwriting Support: Provide critical support for the in-depth and rapidly moving underwriting processes related to potential direct equity, direct credit, and secondary investments.
• Due Diligence Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis to bolster the due diligence process, which includes scrutinizing financial statements of private markets partnerships, reviewing partnership portfolio company valuations, and assessing relative performance.
• Portfolio and Project Support: Analyze client portfolio performance and diversification, while also assisting with special reporting, research, and ad hoc due diligence projects as needed.
• Research & Presentation: Collaborate in teams and work independently to compile topical research reports, then effectively present these findings to Pathway’s senior leadership team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, business economics, or related fields, with a record of high academic achievement.
• Experience: Experience working with Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills for evaluating complex financial data, demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and exhibit the ability and desire to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, while being detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful.
• Bonus: A strong interest in investments and capital markets.
