Advisory Team Associate | Focus Partners

The Tone
This is a full-time cohort program at Focus Partners, located in designated offices across the US, requiring 3-5 days on-site per week based on office and team expectations. Focus Partners is an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive wealth, asset, and business management resources, bringing strength, innovation, and partnership to client relationships and supporting their financial future across all 50 states. This Advisory Team Associate role is crucial for developing the next generation of Associate Wealth Advisors through a structured, cohort-based program, building foundational financial planning knowledge, applied learning experience, and critical client service capabilities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Participate: Actively engage in the comprehensive cohort program experience, which includes structured curriculum, dedicated coaching, applied learning opportunities, competency evaluations, milestone reviews, and readiness assessments across the core areas of financial planning.
• Apply: Utilize and apply program learning through supervised client-service and financial-planning assignments to gain practical experience and deepen understanding.
• Analyze: Gather and meticulously analyze client financial information, then draft comprehensive financial plans and planning analyses for review by senior advisors.
• Prepare: Provide essential assistance with client meeting preparation, including drafting agendas, compiling planning materials, taking meeting notes, and managing follow-up activities to ensure smooth client interactions.
• Coordinate: Coordinate effectively with various internal and external professionals such as client service, investment, tax, estate, and insurance specialists to support diverse client needs and incorporate approved guidance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level position for individuals currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in financial planning, finance, accounting, business, wealth management, economics, or another related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and Spring 2027.
• Experience: Candidates should have foundational exposure to financial planning, investments, or wealth management, gained through coursework, internships, campus organizations, or other related experiences. The ability to successfully obtain the Series 65, or another required registration, within the timeframe established by the program is essential.
• Skills: This role requires excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong interpersonal communication capabilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word). Candidates should also demonstrate learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and a client-service orientation.
• Bonus: Preference is given to candidates with enrollment in or graduation from a CFP Board Registered Program.
