Senior Analyst – Data Science (SQL, Python, GenAI) | American Express
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at American Express. The Analytics, Investments and Marketing Enablement (AIM) team, a core component of Global Commercial Services Marketing (GCSM), serves as the analytics engine responsible for driving Commercial customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. AIM develops crucial insights, data products, and analytical solutions that effectively shape smarter marketing strategies and robust digital experiences. This Senior Analyst position within Corporate Digital Acquisition Analytics directly contributes to the strategy, development, and optimization of personalized digital experiences for Commercial corporate prospects across all digital channels. The role is pivotal in leveraging data, advanced analytics, and emerging AI to lead analytical work, driving the next generation of American Express’s Corporate digital acquisition engine.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Spearhead analytical projects and initiatives that are essential for advancing American Express’s Corporate digital acquisition engine into its next generation.
• Design: Formulate and execute data-driven strategies specifically crafted to optimize targeting, enhance personalization, and boost prospect conversion across digital channels.
• Build: Construct sophisticated analytical solutions aimed at refining targeting methodologies, improving personalized digital interactions, and increasing the effectiveness of prospect conversion efforts.
• Support: Actively contribute to the comprehensive strategy, ongoing development, and continuous optimization of personalized digital experiences designed for Commercial corporate prospects.
• Apply: Integrate and utilize data, advanced analytical techniques, and emerging AI capabilities to significantly improve the outcomes of digital targeting and overall acquisition performance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, or Economics.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience within the Data Science and Analytics domain, including hands-on experience with LLMs and building machine learning models such as XGBoost and K-Means.
• Skills: Proficiency in analytical tools including SQL and Python, demonstrated strong analytical and conceptual thinking acumen to effectively solve unstructured and complex business problems, and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Bonus: Prior experience in digital marketing analytics, personalization, website optimization, or acquisition strategy is highly valued. Additionally, a strong background in large data processing and handling, a foundational understanding of data science concepts including decision trees and regression modeling, and a keen familiarity and interest in applying emerging AI and Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities to improve digital targeting outcomes are preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence partners and drive action are also a plus.
