What You’ll Actually Do
• Statutory Accounting: Perform complex accounting activities, including sub-ledger accounting and high-level financial statements, in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
• Team Leadership: Manage a team of finance professionals supporting the external audits of Mastercard companies worldwide, applying a client-service mentality towards all deliverables.
• Financial Analysis & Issue Resolution: Analyze financial performance, exercise judgment on complex issues, independently determine their complexity, and make recommendations to leadership.
• Compliance & Controls: Assist with implementing process improvements, support SOX compliance, contribute to control enhancements, and assess their effectiveness.
• Accounting Expertise & Reporting: Research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) to ensure appropriate treatment, consistent application of policies, and produce and review internal and external reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Senior Professional with a Bachelor’s degree preferred, holding a Qualified Accountant certification (ACA, AMCA, ACCA), demonstrating a strong finance background in statutory accounting.
• Experience: Proven experience managing components of larger projects, creating and delivering presentations, working with diverse colleagues from other business units and markets, and reviewing work for appropriate accounting treatment. This includes statutory reporting experience with both IFRS and US GAAP.
• Skills: Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial reporting requirements, with advanced MS Excel skills essential. Possesses strong technical accounting, analytical skills, and the ability to drive projects to completion.
• Bonus: Prior experience with Oracle and Hyperion systems is considered beneficial for this role.
