The Tone:
This is a three-month internship at ENGIE North America Inc., located in Houston, TX, with a hybrid work policy requiring a minimum of three days in the office. ENGIE North America is focused on leading the Zero-Carbon Transition by developing energy solutions that are renewable, efficient, and accessible to all. This role is vital for supporting key financial operations, ensuring the accurate processing and reconciliation of payments, and offering valuable hands-on experience within a core business function.

• Mission: Support the Cash Application and Broker Commissions teams in processing and reconciling payments, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and assisting with reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payment Application: Accurately apply incoming payments to customer accounts and invoices.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies found in payments or customer accounts.
• Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling daily bank transactions and identifying any exceptions.
• Month-End Support: Support the month-end closing process by preparing relevant documentation.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with the accounting team to improve cash application efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum a Sophomore Undergraduate Student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience: Proficiency with standard office software packages.
• Skills: Strong quantitative reasoning, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy.
