Work Model
Applied Intuition operates as an in-office company, with the expectation that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, the company acknowledges the importance of flexibility and trusts employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.
About The Role: Research Intern
Applied Intuition is seeking a passionate Research Intern to join its Research Team. This team is dedicated to conducting world-class research for autonomous systems, with direct applications to autonomous driving and general robotics. As an intern, you will have unparalleled access to millions of miles of large-scale data and industry-leading simulators and tools, enabling you to develop cutting-edge models at scale.
Beyond your research contributions, you will contribute to and learn from best practices within the autonomy and robotics industry, operating within a fast-paced and customer-focused culture. Improvements you deploy to the system will immediately benefit customers’ programs and deliver tangible value to the business.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Conduct research on one or more of the following topics with applications to autonomous driving and general robotics:
- Vision-language-action model, reinforcement learning
- World foundation model, 3D/4D reconstruction and novel view synthesis
- End-to-end autonomy, traffic simulation
- Robotic foundation model, real-to-sim-to-real, deformable object simulation
- Human and object motion capture, retargeting and teleoperation
- Work closely with Research Scientists and Engineers to produce high-quality research publications for submission to top-tier conferences.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Strong research skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects.
- Current PhD (or MSc) studies in machine learning, computer vision and graphics, or robotics.
- Passion for next-generation, scalable autonomy and robotics.
Nice to have (if applying for robotics direction):
- Hands-on experience in one of the following fields:
- Hardware and software for various robots
- Data collection equipment and teleoperation
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The base salary is one component of a total compensation package which may also include:

Pay Transparency & Salary Range
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
For pay transparency purposes, the base salary range for this full-time position in the listed location is: $60.00 – $75.00 USD hourly.
