About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Management Intern to join our Project Management Department. This is a paid, non-credit, seasonal internship offering valuable hands-on experience in the exciting world of production, fabrication, and live event management. The intern will play a crucial role in assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of client projects, working closely with various internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Pay Range: $20 – $25 / hour

The intern will work directly with Technical Design staff, Sales Associates, Fabrication Managers, and Rental Leads to help ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, gaining comprehensive insight into the project lifecycle in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Management Intern will assist with a variety of tasks crucial for project success, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting in coordinating internal resources and third-party vendors to support project execution effectively.
  • Helping to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications and quality standards.
  • Reviewing project scopes, objectives, and timelines to ensure clear understanding and alignment.
  • Supporting the sourcing, procurement, and allocation of necessary materials and resources.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans to track progress and milestones.
  • Helping to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, with guidance from senior staff.
  • Monitoring project performance using appropriate tools and software, providing regular updates.
  • Assisting with risk management strategies to identify and minimize potential project issues.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Verifying the quality of products prior to shipping or delivery to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experiences:

  • A strong technical background or a keen interest in production, fabrication, or live event project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective team collaboration and vendor interaction.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and problem-solve creatively as unforeseen challenges arise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • A strong plus: Experience with CAD programs such as Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
